[T-Shirt Series]
SEHIKYO reinterpreted and reconstructed secondhand T-shirts of unknown origin, collected in Tokyo, by layering them with CEIMOU’s textiles. These T-shirts had lost their original context—such as the time, place, or wearer’s experience—and only traces like size, print, and color remained.
Through handwork, SEHIKYO added textiles and lace to these “contextless” garments, creating new visual layers. In some cases, the original prints were obscured; in others, subtle remnants became even more pronounced. The process transformed mass-produced items into small-scale, experimental pieces, while also reimagining familiar materials like lace in unexpected ways.
This series loosely weaves together garments and textiles with uncertain identities, allowing them to break away from their former meanings and acquire new context. Ultimately, these reworked T-shirts return to CEIMOU’s “TOP” category, now with renewed presence.
[티셔츠 시리즈]
SEHIKYO는 도쿄에서 수집한 출처 불명의 중고 티셔츠에 CEIMOU의 텍스타일을 더해 새로운 옷으로 재구성했다. 이 티셔츠들은 원래의 맥락(사용자, 시간, 장소 등)이 사라진 상태였고, 남아 있는 것은 사이즈나 프린트, 색상 같은 단서뿐이었다.
SEHIKYO는 이 ‘맥락 없는’ 티셔츠에 수작업으로 텍스타일과 레이스를 덧붙여 시각적 레이어를 만들고, 기존 프린트를 일부 가리거나 강조하면서 새로운 이미지를 구성했다. 이 작업은 대량 생산된 옷을 소규모의 실험적 제작물로 전환하는 과정이자, 익숙한 레이스 소재를 낯선 방식으로 재해석하는 시도이기도 하다.
이 시리즈는 불확실한 정체성을 가진 옷과 소재들이 느슨하게 결합하며, 기존 의미를 벗어나 새로운 맥락을 획득하는 과정을 보여준다. 결과적으로 이 티셔츠들은 CEIMOU의 '상의' 카테고리로 다시 편입된다.
